What is Autism? Autism Spectrum Disorder (referred to as ASD) is a lifelong developmental disability that typically appears during the first 36 months of age. Since there is no medical test for ASD, a diagnosis is best determined by a team of professionals through observation, play and testing of the child, coupled with interviews with parents and guardians.
